UN GRUPO DE 316 CIENTÍFICOS Y PROFESIONALES DE LA SALUD DE EUROPA PUBLICAN UN INFORME CIENTÍFICO QUE EXPLICA «POR QUÉ LA COMISIÓN EUROPEA DEBE ELEGIR EL LOGOTIPO NUTRICIONAL NUTRI-SCORE - UNA VERDADERA HERRAMIENTA DE SALUD PÚBLICA BASADA EN PRUEBAS CIENTÍFICAS RIGUROSAS - COMO EL LOGOTIPO NUTRICIONAL ÚNICO Y OBLIGATORIO PARA EUROPA"
En el marco de su estrategia "Farm to fork", la Comisión Europea se comprometió en 2021 a proponer un logotipo de información nutricional destinado a ser colocado obligatoriamente en la cara delantera de los envases de los alimentos a escala de la UE de aquí a 2023. Desde este anuncio, poderosos grupos de presión se han movilizado para impedir que sea elegido Nutri-Score como el logotipo único y obligatorio para Europa, o si no retrasar su adopción, o proponer un logotipo alternativo claramente no útil para los consumidores y la salud pública.

Científicos y profesionales de la salud apoyan la implementación del Nutri-Score, una herramienta de salud pública destinada a mejorar el estado nutricional de la población española basada en rigurosos trabajos científicos. Grupo de científicos europeos que apoyan la implementación de Nutri-Score en Europa.

Group of European scientists supporting the implementation of Nutri-Score in Europe
Intended to be affixed to the front of food packaging, the Nutri-Score nutrition label aims to inform consumers, in a simple and understandable way, on the overall nutritional quality of foods to help them to make healthier choices at the point of purchase. The second objective of the Nutri-Score is to encourage manufacturers to improve the nutritional quality of their products through reformulations and/or innovations in order to be better positioned on the Nutri-Score color scale that is beneficial for consumers.
The interest of Nutri-Score is that it is based on a very complete scientific background. Its construction relies on strong scientific work and more than 40 studies published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals have validated its calculation method and its graphic format, and demonstrated its effectiveness and its superiority compared to other existing labels, implemented in other countries or supported by pressure groups...
